Shalom!
On April 15, 2012 Woodward, OK was hit by a tornado a quarter of a mile wide. In the space of 8 miles, the tornado claimed 5 lives and countless homes and businesses. As Christians, it is our privilege and our responsibility to take care of our brothers and sisters. As such, my family and this ministry are working side by side with many others to handle clean up and other needs. You can help, too. Funds are being collected to help supply food, clothing, and other basic necessities to the victims of this tornado. Please click here and donate any amount you desire. Add a note that it is for Tornado Relief and the funds will be allocated appropriately. The Lord will bless your donation to help many, and He always repays those who lend to His people. Join us in extending a hand of love to the tornado victims.
Welcome, and thank you for joining us today. You should know that no matter who you are or what you do, you are loved by the Father in heaven. Not just you, but every person who is called by the name of Jesus. He calls us His children, and that makes us family.
Each part of a family uses its gifts and talents to help the other family members and those outside the family. So it is with a bridge. No part of the bridge is worth less than any other part. All parts are necessary and must work together to maintain the structure and strength of the bridge. If one part doesn't do what it is designed to do, the entire bridge becomes weak and unstable.
The Church is designed to be a very strong and stable bridge. Jesus made the bridge between unholy man and holy God at the cross and the resurrection. The Church is the bridge between the world and Jesus. When differences divide us - whether they be doctrinal, generational, ethnical, or social - the bridge that is the Church becomes weak, unstable, and ineffectual.
Gideon's Army seeks to bridge the divide within the Church, no matter what that divide is. As we allow our differences to make us strong together, the Church will become the effective, strong, and stable bridge it was meant to be.
